Atlas Manipulation

Post by thylor »

https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/co ... influence/

  • All Elder Influence nodes are always connected. There is no way to get two separate Elder Influence blobs. If you cut blob in half, Elder Influence will just leave half the nodes. It will always leave the smallest blob. Shaper Influence nodes don't need to be connected.
  • Elder Influence will always take over a node (map) if a node has Shaper Influence, it is adjacent to Elder Influence, and you run that map. Running a map here means clearing around 60% of monsters on it OR killing the boss.
  • Both Shaper and Elder Influence can sometimes take over adjacent nodes by themselves whenever you run any map on the atlas. That's how you can get in trouble when you are dragging your Elder Influence somewhere, because Shaper Influence can attack Elder influence node if it currently occupies an adjacent node. To avoid that, always protect weak nodes if you want to enlarge Elder Influence in order to spawn Elder himself. Or if you are dragging Elder Influence to the corner either to take advantage of running maps with Elder/Shaper influence or to get Memory Fragment from a specific map.
  • Running an Elder Influenced map results in it losing Elder Influence. If an adjacent square didn't have Shaper Influence, that node (map) it will just become influenceless (completely made-up word, but you got the point). If an adjacent square has Shaper Influence, Shaper Influence will take over that map. That's how you farm your map of choice using Elder Influence Corner - it alternates between being Elder and Shaper influenced each time you clear it.
  • Shaper will slowly grab nodes adjacent to the Elder Influence. After you kill Elder or Uber Elder you can notice that the first time Elder Influence appears again, it usually doesn't have any adjacent Shaper Influence nodes. But as you keep running random maps on the atlas, Elder Influence will start expanding and when it reaches around 7 nodes total, Shaper Influence will begin to "hug" Elder Influence blob, which allows you to easily drag Elder Influence around (see point number 2). Although remember that sometimes it might "attack" some of the border nodes, taking away some of border Elder Influenced nodes (see point number 3).

:?: momentchen mal...
